*Welcome to a new school year at MMS! For those of you that are new to our school, the Sandbox Chatter will be emailed on about a weekly basis (I will be emailing and providing a hard copy of the first two Sandbox Chatters to be sure that everyone is on my email list). It will include information about upcoming family events, policies and procedures, local happenings, etc… If you come across something that our families would like to hear about, send me the information so I can include it.
*Each month, you will receive both classroom and extended care calendars in your communication folder. These calendars are a wonderful tool to use with your child. “Ooh, you’re going to be painting with straws today! What do you think that will be like?” or “Tell me about the rainbow collage you did with your friends today.” Be sure to check for your child’s snack day on the classroom calendar (Preschool only, no Pre-K). You will receive an EC calendar each month even if your child does not normally participate in our EC program.
*Please be sure to sign your child in and out every day, and be sure you are signing on the correct line : )
*Sometime this week or next, we will be distributing our family handbooks. Please take some time to read through the handbook as it contains a lot of information regarding our policies and procedures. There is an acknowledgement form that should be signed and returned to us after you’ve read the material. We will also include an attachment regarding healthy lunches. Please keep in mind that the lunch guide chart only offers some suggestions…it is not a list of food items that you should be packing for your child.
*Please let us know if you need a nap mat for your child. We have a few more left, and can order more if necessary.
